Join us for an exploration of the Filipino Martial Arts as martial and cultural expression in the United States with Grandmaster Art Miraflor.
GM Art is an original student of Serrada Escrima from Grand Master Angel Cabales in 1968 - 1972. GM Art assisted GM Cabales in teaching Guru Dan Inosanto starting in 1969. In 1972-1974 Art got drafted and joined the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. While overseas, Art learned Kuntaw under Grand Master Carlito A. Lanada Sr. in Olongapo, Philippines. After discharge, he started learning Du Fondo of Bahala Na from Grand Master Leo Giron in Stockton, CA. Since 1968, GM Art has been teaching and promoting the Art of Escrima and opening new schools overseas.
Art is the Owner/Founder of Mirarada Escrima Academy in Stockton, CA. His school is one of the oldest schools in the same location since 1978.…
